HEALTH AND KNOWLEDGE PRECINCT — Gold Coast

How FACTION helped create Australia’s largest build-to-rent project

Artist’s impression

Key members of FACTION’s Leadership Team were all engaged in the delivery of the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct. FACTION were appointed to the deliver the post-Games conversion for Australia’s largest build-to-rent project.

What began as a Commonwealth Games project quickly morphed into a Games legacy model. The strategic advice to the government, the business model and project delivery were realigned to create a permanent rental community after the Games. The 1,170-apartment community with 82 townhouses, including 18 dining and retail spaces within a substantial open space across the 30-hectare site served as a temporary home for 6,000 Games athletes and is now a permanent home for thousands of Gold Coast residents, managed as Australia’s first BTR scheme by The Smith Collective.
